View Profile >
Nina M. Whittleton is co-owner and president of Classic Party
Rentals which provides party rental equipment for corporations,
non-profit events, and of course, weddings. Nina has always
been an entrepreneur, starting her first business, Apartment
Stuffers, in 1985 at the age of 25. After developing that
business to its peak performance, she turned her efforts to
Classic Party Rentals in 1997. With a degree in psychology
from Virginia Commonwealth University Nina feels very in touch
with her clients and their decision-making processes. Planning
events is very emotional for most people, and being able to
connect well with clients on this level is an important element
that allows for better quality customer service and a higher
rate of satisfied clients. Nina is a proud member of the Chesterfield
Chamber of Commerce where she serves as Special Events chairperson.
She is also involved in many other organizations – N.E.W.,
NACE, JFWCC – where she is either a board member or
a very active participant.
While Nina takes extreme pride in her business and community
achievements, two of her greatest successes are her children,
Kurt, 21, a junior at VCU and her daughter, Kelsey, 18, a
freshman at JMU. Both understand the importance of a quality
education as well as a balance of work/life experiences.

A graduate of Ohio University School of Design,
Porter began work as a corporate image and packaging designer
in Atlanta, Georgia. (Remember your first margarine “tub”?
The package may have been her design work.) From there she
branched into the broadcast world and worked as the art director
for WOUB-TV, a public broadcasting affiliate in Ohio.
Porter launched her independent graphic design career in
1979 with clients that included Ohio University, the United
States Coast Guard, Kentucky Horse Park, Kentucky Derby Museum,
the Academy of Natural Sciences, and Stewart-MacDonald Manufacturing.
After moving to Richmond in 1988, Porter founded Graphic
Presentations, which today serves an impressive list of clients
that span the public and private sectors. From Fortune 500
corporations to neighborhood nonprofits, Porter's services
have garnered accolades for her ability to generate new ideas
and take them successfully through implementation. "What
I enjoy most," says Porter "is working with people
who understand the importance of good, clean design. From
logo design to full-blown event marketing materials, each
client receives a dedicated attention to his/her goals, expectations
and budget."
Porter is pleased to be a member of James River Trade Exchange
and their Board of Advisors. A believer in TRADE as a perfect
opportunity to exchange services in a professional manner,
she wants to help get the word out about JTRE and all its
benefits.
