| What if I don't want to use the auto-payment
method... can I still join? |
Yes, only the fees are increased to a 12/12/12
plan...
($12/month cash, $12/month trade, & 12% transactional commission
will be charged. |
| Why do you charge me a monthly cash fee &
monthly trade fee? |
| Since we don't charge a fixed annual fee every
12 months (like other trade exchanges) we pool these nominal monthly member contributions
to cover general operating expenses like: postage/printing for detailed monthly
statements, website improvements for our members, to replenish our member benefit
co-op marketing fund, and advertising so we can grow our trade exchange at an
accelerated rate to benefit you. |
| How long is my commitment to participate? |
| You may cancel at anytime, however, trade is not
a short term solution to getting more cash business. Instead, joining JRTE should
be seen as a long term strategy to gain market share, network with other successful
businesses, and become more profitable by earning and spending trade dollars as
often as you can to conserve your cash and grow your business over time. (See
agreement for details) |
| When can I start buying items/services on trade? |
| As soon as your account is
setup (usually within 2 business days)
Note:
JRTE membership card(s) will typically arrive within 10 days of
joining -but broker involved transactions
can occur
immediately without a card. |
| How can I buy with trade when I haven't even
earned any trade dollars yet? |
| Every JRTE member
instantly receives a trading credit line (determined by JRTE)
so you can experience the benefits and ease of "purchasing on trade"
first hand. |
| What if I don't spend all my trade dollars
in a month? |
| No worries, with JRTE your trade dollars simply
carry over to the next month. They never expire. In fact many businesses work
with JRTE to determine when and how to best spend their trade dollars to grow
their cash business and profit margin. |
| If another JRTE member buys something from
my business on trade, do I have to purchase something from them on trade? |
| No. Absolutely not - that is direct trade. JRTE
is a clearing house of things you can trade for, and you can spend your earned
trade dollars with anyone in our organization at any time. |
| How can I earn extra trade dollars without
selling my product or services? |
| Many members have earned hundreds of trade dollars
by simply helping us acquire more members through our referral program. For each
member you refer to us, you can earn $50, $100, and sometimes even $250 in JRTE
trade dollars! Ask Us For Details |
| Can you waive the monthly fees for me? |
| JRTE rarely does this, but under a few instances
we will consider this option for particularly in-demand businesses or services
that could benefit the entire member base. This requires the client to take the
JRTE card/trades without restrictions and openly at all times. Other regulations
may also apply. Ask for details if you think you qualify... |
| Can I trade with businesses outside Richmond,
VA? |
| Not directly with your JRTE membership card, but
it may be possible through your JRTE broker for certain items/services. JRTE is
a member with NATE.org and can help facilitate possible trades when needed. |
| Can I trade directly with another JRTE member
without having to pay any JRTE transaction fees? |
| No. This is in direct violation of our agreement,
and your membership will be canceled if this occurs. You may, however, continue
to trade directly with non-JRTE members you already have relationships with if
needed. Our goal is to not replace opportunities for your business, but expand
on them. JRTE respects your cash relationships, and ask that you respect ours. |
| Can I start using trade dollars to pay for
existing cash based services or products I am already using? |
| We ask all our members to continue their existing
cash expenditures with current vendors and suppliers whenever possible. Instead
of ruining an existing successful relationship, use your trade dollars to pay
for other things available on trade, thus freeing up more cash to continue your
existing business relationships. Exceptions to this may include: adding extra
services on trade with an existing vendor/supplier. |
| Can I charge a JRTE member 50% cash and 50%
trade to cover some of my costs? |
| No. Everyone has costs to cover. By charging the
same rate you would a cash customer, each JRTE member earns his/her standard profit
margin for doing business. The trade exchange currency depends on fair and equal
business practices and this is strictly enforced and expected. |
| Are there any exceptions to charging cash as
part of a transaction when trading with another member? |
Yes, certain industries and businesses can require
cash fees if pre-approved and disclosed to other members prior to providing/quoting
trade services.

must tip wait staff in cash.
Ex: Builders can opt to charge materials cost
& trade 100% labor if needed.
Ex: Printers may charge certain setup/proof

| Do I have to trade everything at all times
on trade? |
| No, all members are required to trade at least
one product or service at 100% trade. You may also change your status at anytime
by calling your broker. |
